Keyboard controls
The official public development client currently identifies the following inputs.
- W or Up Arrow — accelerate
- S or Down Arrow — brake or reverse
- A or Left Arrow — steer left
- D or Right Arrow — steer right
- Shift — boost the acceleration input
- Enter — open chat when multiplayer chat is available
- Esc — close chat or open the menu
Mobile controls
On a phone or tablet, use the touch controls and prompts displayed by the live game. The exact overlay can vary as the game changes and may depend on device orientation.
For the largest control area, rotate to landscape, close browser toolbars where possible, and use the player’s fullscreen button.
Why controls may not respond
- Click or tap inside the game frame so it receives keyboard focus.
- Close chat with Esc if typing is capturing your input.
- Check that the browser tab is active and no browser shortcut is intercepting the key.
- Try the official-site fallback if the embedded frame cannot receive input correctly.

This page is based on the official public Hop.Earth repository and is reviewed against the live game when possible. It does not claim that every development-client shortcut is permanently available in production.
